An interesting UNESCO report on education in Cambodia: compulsory until 14 years old now and enrolment and teachers doubling in the last 20 years.

I doubt the full picture is quite as rosy as that in many of the rural villages.

The National Council of Women in Thailand supports Thai giving and women issues in general. Thailand has some of the highest levels of female-run businesses in the world.

An interesting US charity site a little like the Charity Commission and with some interesting info on Amazon and paypal donations.

I’m surprised at a table on charity giving from USA to Asia: c.$50M and only c.$5M of that to Thailand with 41 funders – about the same as Australia. I thought the figures would have been far higher than that, maybe the emphasis is on government-to-government aid.
